FISCHERSCOPE® MMS® Automation

Fully automated production offers numerous advantages: faster production, better quality and transparent processes. For this vision to become reality, a powerful and fully integrated measurement technology with interfaces to all control units is necessary

The basis for automated quality control is the FISCHERSCOPE® MMS® Automation measuring system for many applications. Due to its modular design, it is designed for maximum flexibility: with up to four modules installed, a variety of measurement tasks can be achieved all around layer thickness and electrical conductivity.

The measuring system consists of three main parts. The measured value acquisition takes place with probes, which are mounted, for example, on a robot arm. Via a digitization unit - the MMS module - the probe signals reach the basic unit.

The basic unit is mounted in the control cabinet and is responsible for monitoring the measurement. It communicates with higher-level units via an RS-232 interface.

The right equipment for your application

Thanks to its modular design, FISCHER SCOPE MMS Automation can be specially adapted to your needs and expanded at any time. There are a total of 5 different modules available.

PERMASCOPE®

The PERMASCOPE is the versatile module for coating thickness measurement. It combines two measuring methods: the magnetic-inductive and the eddy-current method. Typical applications:

  • Electrically insulating layers on different metals, eg. B. paint on steel or aluminum
  • Electrically conductive, non-magnetic layers on ferrous metals, eg. As zinc, copper or chromium on steel
  • Weak electrically conductive layers on good conductive metals, eg. As chromium and chemical nickel on copper or aluminum

 NICKELSCOPE®

The NICKELSCOPE is based on the Hall effect and makes use of the different magnetizability of coating and base materials for thickness measurement. Typical applications:

  • Galvanic nickel layers on non-ferrous metals and insulating base materials
  • Non-magnetic layers such as copper, aluminum or lead on steel or iron

SR-SCOPE

The SR-SCOPE is a special module for the electronics industry. It uses the micro-resistance method and is suitable for measuring the thickness of individual copper layers on multilayer printed circuit boards - without the influence of deeper layers.

SIGMASCOPE®

The SIGMASCOPE determines the electrical conductivity of metals and can be used either for measuring layer thickness or for identifying non-ferrous metals. Typical applications:

  • Measurement of copper layers on printed circuit boards
  • Testing of aluminum alloys in the incoming goods

CHARACTERISTICS

  • Modular measuring system for conductivity and layer thickness
  • Fully remote controllable
  • Module and probe are mounted directly on the robot (shielded against environmental influences)
  • Connection of module and basic unit via cable up to 30 m in length
  • Communication with control units via an RS-232 interface
