EWE DOWNSIZE

With the smallest digital fine boring head EWE 04-7, also known as "EWE Downsize", BIG KAISER, a global market leader for high-quality precision tools and systems for the metalworking industry, is a major player in the field of micromachining.

The "EWE Downsize", 100 % developed and produced in Switzerland, belongs to the 4th generation of the new BIG KAISER fine boring heads and will in future be listed in the product catalogue under the designation EWE 04-7. With a length of 26 mm and an outside diameter of 19.6 mm, it is the ideal fine boring head for machine tools with spindle sizes ISO 20, HSK-E25 and larger. The head covers a diameter range of 0.4 - 7 mm and allows infinite length adjustment of the tool holder. This allows a maximum depth machining of 16 mm.

The "EWE Downsize" is thus the pioneer model for all other versions of products in the field of micromachining. The focus of development was on improving process reliability. With the "EWE Downsize", BIG KAISER has succeeded not only in making the machining of workpieces faster and simpler, but above all safer.

Due to its compact design, the "EWE Downsize" does not have its own display. Thanks to its wireless connection, the digital fine boring head connects wirelessly with the app for Smartphone, Tablet and Smart Watch specially developed by BIG KAISER for this purpose. This allows an enormous simplification of the monitoring and configuration of the fine boring head during setup.

The simplified reading of delivery data for the "EWE Downsize" on an external display, such as a Smart Watch, corresponds to the future state of the art in our industry. Since the "EWE Downsize" eliminates the need to plug in an external display or cable, the operator can concentrate fully on fine adjustment of the fine boring head. In order to support the operator in this, the tolerance zones are indicated by dynamically changing colours on the Smart Watch display. This handling contributes significantly to improving process reliability.
